How to get there
Curious about acting or looking to build confidence on stage? Our Adult Acting Classes are designed for those with little to no experience who want to explore the fundamentals of performance in a supportive, creative environment. Participants will be introduced to core acting techniques, including:
· Voice and projection
· Movement and stage presence
· Improvisation
· Character development
· Scene work and collaboration
This program focuses on building confidence, creativity, and communication skills while having fun and connecting with others.
Course:
· 8-Week Program: 2 hours per week
· Cost: $350 per participant
Meet our Facilitators:
Michele Di Tomasso is an award winning actor, vocalist, director, and yoga instructor whose passion for the performing arts began as a professional child actor. Over the years, she has built a diverse career spanning film, television, commercials, and theatre. In addition to her artistic work, Michele brings more than 20 years of leadership and training experience, mentoring teams and delivering learning programs in Canada and internationally. She remains actively involved with numerous theatre companies across Southwestern Ontario, contributing both onstage and behind the scenes in creative and leadership roles. Her recent screen credits include Strike of Love, The Christmas Mixer, and a national Sephora commercial campaign. Michele is a founding member and Artistic Director of Ayr Community Theatre, fostering creativity, collaboration, and community engagement through the arts.
Tara Taylor is a theatre artist, educator, and advocate for inclusive arts programming. Holding an Honours BA in Drama Studies, a Bachelor of Education, and certification through Dance Masters of America and Rhythm Works Integrative Dance, she has worked in performance, stage management, dance instruction, and guest services, including as a Trainer at Walt Disney World and Backstage Hospitality at River Run Centre. She is actively involved with Milton Youth Theatre Productions and Milton Community Theatre as a parent, performer, and inclusion coordinator. Her extensive experience with individuals of all abilities, including through Famous PEOPLE Players and KidsAbility, inspires her work as Creative Director of Purple Stage Door Productions, creating accessible and empowering theatre opportunities in the community.
